Senior Clinical Trial Manager - Remote, US

Senior Clinical Trial Manager

We are currently seeking a Senior Clinical Trial Manager to join our diverse and dynamic team at ICON. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the operational delivery of clinical trials from study start-up through closeout, ensuring quality, compliance, and execution against study timelines and objectives.

As the clinical operations lead, you will work cross-functionally with sponsors, investigators, vendors, and internal stakeholders to drive successful study outcomes while identifying and mitigating risks throughout the trial lifecycle.

What you will be doing
  • Lead the operational delivery of assigned clinical trials, ensuring milestones, timelines, budget expectations, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Drive study start-up activities, site activation, enrollment strategies, and study execution through database lock.
  • Provide oversight of study progress, monitoring activities, clinical metrics, and site performance.
  • Develop and implement effective study oversight plans, monitoring strategies, and risk mitigation approaches.
  • Identify operational challenges and proactively implement solutions to ensure successful study delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, investigators, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Review study performance metrics and provide regular status updates and reporting.
  • Support, mentor, and collaborate with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and other study team members.
  • Ensure all clinical trial activities comply with protocol requirements, ICH-GCP guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or another relevant scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant Clinical Trial Management experience within a CRO (preferred), pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and deliver clinical studies from start-up through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, ICH-GCP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing study timelines, budgets, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to identify risks, solve complex operational challenges, and drive study execution.
  • Prior monitoring experience preferred.
  • Experience managing global and/or complex clinical trials preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
