Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of relevant Ontario Accident Benefits experience outside the MIG.
• CIP designation completed or desire to pursue it preferred.
• Prior insurance experience, particularly in injury claims and medical rehabilitation concepts.
• Strong time management and organizational skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Critical thinking skills for claim assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance policy wording and determine coverage for claims.
• Investigate, negotiate, and settle complex accident benefits claims via various communication methods.
• Adhere to all company policies and claims best practices.
• Comply with legislative and regulatory requirements in claims handling.
• Maintain thorough documentation of claims files and processes.
• Set expectations for customer service during claims processing.
• Take ownership and resolve customer issues effectively.
• Manage a caseload appropriate for a Senior Claim Advisor.
• Engage professionally with claimants, providers, and legal representatives.
• Collaborate with team members to support accident benefit adjustments.
