The Opportunity

McElhanney has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Project Manager to strengthen and expand our Civil Engineering practice in Kelowna, BC. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of municipal infrastructure and land development projects while providing direct supervision, mentorship, and development of engineering staff. You will lead complex projects from planning and design through construction, cultivate strategic client relationships, and play a key role in business development and practice growth.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the pursuit, planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, developers, agencies, and other key clients.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, scope, contracts, and quality to ensure successful delivery and strong financial performance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to engineers and EITs.
  • Review and approve technical reports, designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and subconsultants to advance project objectives.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Kelowna practice through leadership, industry participation, and technical excellence.

  • 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.

  • Strong people leadership skills, including supervising, mentoring, and developing engineering staff.
  • Sound project and financial management experience, including scope, risk, contract, and budget management.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, procurement, and construction. MMCD and CCA experience is an asset.

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $155,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual's education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
