Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and kickoff meetings for critical placements, clarifying roles and requirements.
  • Work with QC Supervisor to translate project requirements into field QC priorities.
  • Identify execution risks related to logistics, site access, and delivery issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between various teams to align expectations during placements.
  • Review field QC execution, monitoring quality issues and technician availability.
  • Coordinate responses to quality concerns, including customer communication and documentation.
  • Provide coverage for the QC Manager during absences, managing escalations and stakeholder communication.

Pay Range: $104,220.00 - $138,953.32

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead planning and kickoff meetings for critical or high-risk placements to confirm roles, testing requirements, safety expectations, communication paths, and escalation protocols.
  • Work with the QC Supervisor to translate production schedules, pour plans, project requirements, and customer commitments into clear field QC priorities.
  • Proactively identify execution risks including logistics, site access, delivery windows, weather, placement readiness, plant capacity, mix performance, and customer-specific requirements
  • Serve as the liaison between Production/Dispatch, Sales, QC, Field teams, Lab, and customers to align expectations before and during placements.
  • Maintain oversight of field QC execution by reviewing testing cadence, coverage plans, documentation quality, technician availability, and escalated quality issues.
  • Support quality concern response by coordinating containment actions, increased monitoring, customer communication, internal follow-up, documentation, and closure.
  • Backfill QC Manager coverage during absences by triaging escalations, supporting containment actions, maintaining stakeholder communication, and ensuring proper handoff.


What Are We Looking For
  • Degree in a technical, engineering, construction materials, or related field, or an equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ready mix concrete production, concrete field testing practices, quality systems, and applicable ASTM, ACI, WAQTC, and AASHTO standards.
  • ACI Field Level 1, Strength Testing Technician, and Aggregates Technician
  • Prior materials, field/lab, and testing procedure experience preferred, with emphasis on aggregates and ready-mix concrete sampling and testing.
  • Technical proficiency with quality reporting systems, Microsoft Office applications, testing equipment, and data driven process improvement.

Work Environment
  • Primarily works in the field at ready mix and aggregate facilities, customer job sites, and construction projects throughout the Washington market.
  • Frequent coordination with materials testing laboratories, operations teams, dispatch, contractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven terrain, moving equipment, traffic hazards, noise, dust, and construction environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work occasional Saturdays, early mornings, or extended hours based on project and operational needs.
