This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineer for our Chicago Department of Transportation-Client office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist and support our client in managing CDOT Livable Streets design projects.
• Provide technical support in various stages of the project, including preliminary design, final design, and contract documentation, including cost estimates and specifications;
• Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues during design & construction
• Coordinate/Manage other design consultants.
• Develop memorandums and other written technical documents
• Assist/review plans, specifications, and bid packages;
• Support projects by attending meetings and interacting with agency officials, project stakeholders and contractors
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related degree.
• 4+ years of professional experience post-graduation. (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
• Good technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the City of Chicago immediately.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working on CDOT projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) License exam passed for the state of Illinois or ability to obtain in 6 months.
• Experience with technical reviews
• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $100,800 - $166,400
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
