Full Job Description
The Impact You'll Have:

Alliant Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer on our Land Development team at our Minneapolis office.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will use your technical and management skills to lead a multidisciplinary team, delivering multimodal projects for our clients. Utilize your technical skills by being hands-on during the design process, providing technical direction and expertise to the project team. Use your project management skills for planning, organizing, monitoring, and directing work activities and budgets.

You will participate in business development opportunities, including preparing proposals, participating in client meetings, and engaging in marketing activities to grow your client network. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge by mentoring and training professional and graduate engineers.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your project management skills for planning, organizing, monitoring and directing work activities and resources necessary to complete assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other engineering staff, city municipalities, and private and commercial land development clients.
  • Manage projects for consistency with established processes, schedules, budgets, design criteria, standards and specifications and to ensure projects are on-time and on-budget.
  • Develop and manage client relationships in the Residential and Commercial markets.
  • Work with senior management to develop strategies to increase market share.
  • Lead, mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Participate in developing strong relationships with clients and staff.


Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Land Development design or construction management.
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Minnesota.
  • Must possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply engineering knowledge to a variety of projects.
  • Strong relationships and contacts with residential/commercial developers, municipal staff and other regulatory agencies.
  • Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in team environment is essential.

The base salary for this position is expected to be in the range of $100,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
