Full Job Description

Are you a seasoned procurement professional looking to make a real impact in a high-growth, regulated medical device environment? SunTech Medical, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to own global product lines and supplier relationships while driving both strategic initiatives and hands-on execution.

This role is a strategic and hands-on position that blends commercial leadership, regulatory discipline, operation execution, and cross-functional influence.  You’ll combine strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, managing supply continuity, global logistics, and regulatory compliance, while also performing manual updates, report tracking, and follow-up where systems are not fully automated. If you enjoy solving complex supply chain challenges and collaborating across functions, this role is for you.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement for assigned domestic and global product lines with full ownership of supplier relationships.

  • Influence cross-functional decisions and work directly with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service.

  • Provide guidance to Buyers or junior team members regarding the procurement processes, reporting, and supplier management to ensure consistent execution and professional development

  • Drive process improvements, SOP updates, and item master governance, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Product Mangers regarding End-of-Life (EOL) product planning to ensure smooth product transitions.

  • Build Supply Chain visibility and insights using Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and Power BI.

  • Play a key role in audit readiness, maintaining quality-first documentation.

  • Manage manual reporting, dashboards, data updates, and follow-up, including coordination with contract suppliers (e.g., PCBA manufacturers), while navigating evolving processes across departments

  • It is not just limited to this job description as procurement is an ever-changing role and requires the team to pivot as needed or requested

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing; medical device experience is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or Industrial Engineering

  • Comfortable owning strategic or high-risk supplies (contract manufacturers, PCBA, critical component suppliers) and skilled at managing escalation paths for supply disruptions

  • Global supply chain experience, including international logistics and customs (to include Tariffs/HTS Codes)

  • Experienced in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation

  • Familiar with regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, MDSAP)

  • Capable of maintaining accurate reporting, data updates, and follow-up in situations where other departments may be working toward fully standardized processes

  • Have a strong cross-functional business acumen and understanding of how all departments work together within the organization

  • Analytical, proactive, and persistent with a solutions-oriented mindset

  • Collaborate with Engineering, QA and R&D during new product development to lead supply readiness for NPIs or product changes

  • Oversee Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory, driving strategies to reduce waste, optimize working capital, and coordinate disposition with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent organization skill set with the ability to re-prioritize and/or pivot
