Requirements
Senior Buyer: This Is Where You Come In.

We're looking for a Senior Buyer who knows how to build strong supplier relationships, negotiate great deals, solve problems, and keep things moving. You'll be the primary point of contact for suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors while ensuring our teams have the materials, equipment, and services they need-when they need them.

This is a highly collaborative role that works across engineering, estimating, sales, project management, operations, and other teams throughout the business. You'll need to understand the needs of the business, clarify expectations, communicate proactively, and make smart purchasing decisions that balance cost, quality, availability, and delivery.

You'll also play an important role in developing the team around you by sharing your knowledge, mentoring others, and helping raise the bar for how we approach procurement.

In return for achieving aggressive goals, you'll earn more ownership, significant growth opportunities, and more freedom than you've probably ever had in a purchasing role.
Your First-Year Mission: Be a Hero

In your first year, you'll be expected to:
  • Own the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring purchases are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company policies.
  • Identify and secure best-value suppliers who can consistently meet our business and project needs.
  • Execute procurement processes in accordance with departmental SOPs and risk-management strategies.
  • Build strong supplier relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to MMFS standards for quality, pricing, service, and delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, estimating, sales, project management, and other stakeholders to understand needs and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate proactively and provide practical solutions based on regional, operational, and project-specific requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier and vendor communications.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen procurement capabilities and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and make it easier for our teams to get what they need.
  • Drive process improvements and cost savings while protecting supply chain continuity.

You'll report to Ryan Savage, Strategic Sourcing Manager, and join a collaborative team working across a wide variety of projects and initiatives supporting our growing business.

This is a highly visible role with exposure to all levels and functions of the organization. Your decisions will directly influence how efficiently MMFS purchases the materials, equipment, and services our teams need to succeed-and you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one.
Your Background: Who Will Thrive Here?

You should have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • The ability to analyze data, assess risk, and make thoughtful purchasing decisions.
  • Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
And Everyone You Work With Should Describe You As...
  • An innovator. You're always looking for a better, faster, smarter way to get things done.
  • A collaborator. You build strong relationships and know that the best solutions usually come from working together.
  • A communicator. You listen carefully, understand what people need, set clear expectations, and follow through.
  • An owner. You don't wait for someone else to solve a problem. When something needs to get done, you take responsibility and make it happen.
  • A problem solver. You're resourceful, curious, and comfortable figuring things out when there isn't an obvious answer.
  • Reliable and accountable. Your word means something, and people know they can count on you.
What Will Motivate You?

You'll thrive here if you're motivated by:
  • Collaboration: You'll work with teams across the organization and build relationships with people at every level.
  • Learning and independence: We want you to figure things out, ask smart questions, and keep learning. If you need constant handholding or a micromanaging boss, this probably isn't the place for you.
  • Making an impact: Your purchasing decisions directly affect cost, quality, availability, delivery, and ultimately the success of our teams.
  • Ownership and growth: We're lean, fast-moving, and results-oriented. You'll be expected to take ownership, learn quickly, and accomplish more every year.
  • Freedom to operate: You'll have the autonomy to own your work and make decisions, with a supportive team behind you when you need it.
  • Having fun: We believe work should be enjoyable. We value transparency, welcome new ideas, support each other, and have built a culture that feels more like a family than a bureaucracy.

Benefits

Compensation:
  • Buyer: $90,000-$117,000 annually, based on 3-5 years of relevant purchasing/procurement experience.
