Procurement Team, of the
Oil & Gas and Chemical Sector based in
Houston, Texas office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you- In collaboration with the project team develop and implement the appropriate sourcing and commercial strategy for the procurement of engineered, tagged or critical equipment and bulk materials through the preparation of a master bid list while understanding the level of criticality or risk of the equipment or materials.
- Prepare and launch open and closed invitation to bids using the company Procurement tool, expedite responses and serve as the single point-of-contact for Supplier questions, and harmonize, complete commercial bid tabulations with recommendations.
- Negotiate best prices and commercial conditions with suppliers within budgetary limits and scope of authority, manage contractual negotiations in line with legal recommendations and facilitate or lead Pre-Award meetings or proposal clarification meetings with suppliers and Project personnel to ensure alignment.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders and amendments per the assigned Delegations of Authority and manage supplier acknowledgements.
- In alignment with the Project Team, maintain relationships with key suppliers in assigned category or categories to provide maximum utilization of their expertise, ideas, methods, market intelligence, best practices and material application in order to achieve the best value. Effectively share knowledge with the category network and with our project teams.
- Manage expediting of major equipment and bulk material and supplier documentation for allocated Purchase Orders.
- Updating and maintaining of the expediting status report using the Procurement Systems to monitor and track the status of data and drawings.
- Assist construction on Overages, shortages, damaged, and quarantined equipment.
- Assisting accounts payable confirming milestones have been met for payment.
- Coordinate with the Project Team to release orders for shipment.
- Leads supplier conference calls or meetings for the resolution or mitigation plans of key or critical issues to ensure alignment with project expectations.
- Maintains the highest level of ethical and professional standards of conduct as established by the organization while recognizing specific behaviors, which contributes to Procurement fraud.
- Provides onboarding and training support, mentoring and development of team.
- May serve as a recognized expert on a specific category or categories of supply.
- May serve as a deputy to project procurement manager as required.
- Assists the procurement team on the preparation of reporting and KPI measurement (e.g. savings report).
- Efficient utilization of company systems, tools and spreadsheets.
- Develop and maintain Project procurement files in a prescribed and consistent manner including the adequate and timely close-out of Purchase Orders and at times, leading the completion of performance assessments for selected suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned.
What your experience looks like- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management, engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years procurement experience in related field in Chemical, Oil & Gas, or Energy
- Preferred candidate must have experience in EPC Projects
