Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst will support the Business Management Office (BMO) within the Office of the CIO, providing business analysis, financial operations, expense management, budgeting, reporting, and process improvement support across Technology. The role will work closely with Technology, Finance, Accounts Payable, and other stakeholder groups to manage approval-to-spend workflows, budget requests, purchase orders, reporting, and data analysis while identifying opportunities to automate and scale existing processes. The position requires strong data storytelling, financial analysis, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
• Support business analysis activities for Technology, with a focus on expense management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial operations.
• Process day-to-day spend requests, issue purchase orders, and navigate end-to-end approval-to-spend workflows.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Technology teams, and other stakeholders to review budget and approval-to-spend requests and ensure alignment with financial plans.
• Query data, perform data validation, investigate reporting anomalies, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for the BMO while providing excellent internal customer service and balancing efficiency with business needs.
• Update budget items throughout the year and analyze changes, variances, and impacts resulting from budget movements.
• Create, understand, and analyze moderately complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Develop and enhance reporting and analytics using Power BI and Tableau.
• Work with data housed in AWS environments and understand relevant data architecture and data flows.
• Translate complex data insights into actionable business and operational recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop clear data stories and present findings to business stakeholders to influence decision-making.
• Support analytics and reporting across multiple Lines of Business (LOBs), particularly within Technology organizations.
• Apply FP&A concepts, finance metrics, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting knowledge to Technology business operations.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to junior team members and associates.
• Facilitate meetings, presentations, and business updates for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Lead through influence by guiding stakeholders toward effective decisions and outcomes.
• Create new business processes and continuously improve existing processes, reports, and methodologies to increase efficiency, scalability, and quality.
• Track deliverables through completion while managing competing priorities, deadlines, and associated risks.
• Identify key messages and communicate the business implications of data and analysis to Technology leadership.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 4-8 years of related experience; strong preference for candidates with 8+ years of experience in Finance and Operations analysis.
• Strong data analysis experience with knowledge of expense management and budgeting processes.
• Advanced experience creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau.
• Solid understanding of FP&A, financial metrics, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting concepts.
• Experience working with data in AWS environments, including an understanding of data architecture and data flows.
• Ability to query and validate data and troubleshoot reporting or data anomalies.
• Proven ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Strong data storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to influence business decisions.
• Experience supporting analytics and reporting across multiple Lines of Business.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge data, finance, and business operations to align analytics with organizational objectives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with executive presence.
• Strong organizational, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts and deliver high-quality work on time.
• Demonstrated experience tracking and driving deliverables to completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand technology terminology and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to work onsite Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remote, in Columbus, Ohio or Dallas, Texas.

• Experience working within a financial services organization or a Technology organization supporting a financial services enterprise.

• Experience creating and improving scalable, repeatable, and automated business processes.
• Experience providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
