As the Senior Business Planner - Azure you will help drive the monetization strategy for Azure AI and come up with compelling new ways to continue to improve our business strategies, packaging, and pricing. We collaborate with engineering, marketing and finance to define and execute business models and monetization strategies for Azure Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As a senior business planner focused on Azure AI, you can expect to learn from the following activities:
  • Lead and evolve the monetization strategy for services within the Azure Artificial Intelligence (AI) product line.
  • Solve complex problems and establish business models for an emerging AI industry.
  • Bring a quantitative perspective to support your recommendations (i.e. bring data to bear)
  • Develop business model strategies and establish product pricing & packaging for new AI models.
  • Identify pricing and licensing optimization opportunities by interacting closely with partners, sellers, and customers.
  • Create business model proposals, present them to senior leadership and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Collaborate with pricing operations (i.e. Commerce and Ops) to implement business models and pricing.
  • Drive revenue growth of the Azure AI portfolio.
  • Understand different cloud business models: Provisioned, Serverless, Reserved Instance, Pre-purchase plans.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience OR equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • A strong track record of working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives with passion, precision, and excellence.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional business judgement leveraging strong strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action and execution/operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive projects and build executive buy-in and support for key projects.
  • A minimum of 8 years in business planning, product management, project management, or consulting or equivalent practical or functional experience.


Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
