The Senior Business Development Coordinator provides business development and marketing support for King & Spalding’s firm-wide Technology Industry group. The role works closely with business development colleagues focused on strengthening the firm’s brand in the sector and driving revenue opportunities. The Senior Business Development Coordinator will support a wide variety of projects, pitches and proposals, directory and award submissions, events, and strategic initiatives to support lawyers in the cross-selling and identification of business trends and opportunities in the technology sector. The role will also liaise with BD colleagues focused on other sectors where technology subject matter crosses over, such as digital infrastructure, fintech, healthcare technology, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and draft dynamic content for pitches and RFPs in PowerPoint and Word, including the coordination with other practice and sector business developers
- Identify and facilitate cross-selling opportunities for lawyers focused on the Technology sector, including crafting and executing a range of go-to-market strategies around these opportunities and collaborating with business development colleagues supporting other practice areas/industries on these opportunities
- Support client targeting program, including prompting and monitoring pursuit activities, and tracking and reporting on results
- Conduct strategic research on potential clients, competitors and industry developments to identify business trends and opportunities, and ensure that King & Spalding is optimally positioned to grow market share
- Provide support for lawyer meetings, including agenda-building, preparation of materials and information for speakers, and project-management of actions/follow-up coming from meetings
- Identify, develop and maintain key messages and proof points for the Technology team and integrate across marketing materials, newsletters, the website and social media
- Support business development aspects of firm-hosted events (receptions, client entertainment outings, substantive presentations, etc.), working closely with participating lawyers and Marketing department colleagues on invitation list development, event materials, participant tracking, on-site management and targeted follow-up activities
- Identify and facilitate the firm’s participation in Technology sector sponsorships, conferences, memberships and other key profile-building opportunities for the team and individual lawyers
- Support legal directory and league table ranking submissions, and assist the PR team in the generation of matters and other information for awards submissions and external matter announcements
- Utilize CRM, experience management systems and other firm technology to meet job requirements with an expectation to become an expert in these systems over time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of experience in a business development or marketing role within a major law firm or similar professional services environment
- Possess exemplary interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and in writing, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and help mentor junior team members, and incorporate feedback into performance
- Demonstrate excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks often under tight deadlines
- Ability to work with senior lawyers and collaborate with other stakeholders across the firm
- Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Co-pilot
- Proficient in contact relationship management databases, such as Microsoft Dynamics

Pay Transparency Range:
Chicago: The anticipated full-time annualized salary range is $77,000 - $96,000
The salary offer will be contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
