ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you deeply curious about how the media and advertising ecosystem really works under the hood? We are seeking a high-caliber early-career analyst (fresh graduate in Business Management, Technology, or Futuresight-related disciplines) who possesses relentless intellectual curiosity and an appetite to explore the complex intersections that others overlook.
In this role, you will analyze the media ecosystem end-to-end—spanning commercial advertising models, digital distribution mechanics, subscription economics, and emerging tech stacks. You will be expected to thrive in uncertainty, challenge assumptions, and produce rigorous, evidence-backed insights to guide executive decision-making.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ecosystem & Vendor Intelligence: Deliver comprehensive vendor dossiers and category analyses within tight timelines, evaluating category fit, integration feasibility, exit costs, vendor viability, and clear decision confidence levels.
End-to-End Media Economics Research: Map and analyze the overlapping dependencies between commercial ad mechanics, audience measurement, first-party data strategies, social tech platforms, and subscription revenue streams.
Rigorous Pilot & Hypothesis Testing: Pre-register every pilot with clear hypotheses, success metrics, stop conditions, and market-as-control measurement designs before execution. Ensure all test results produce actionable, decision-grade findings rather than anecdotal summaries.
Governance & Constraint Screening: Rigorously screen all technical and strategic recommendations against procurement, legal, privacy, and regulatory boundaries before presenting to leadership forums.
Competitive & Supply Chain Tracking: Monitor industry shifts including programmatic supply chain developments, unified sales platforms, broadcaster consolidation, and platform-side API/policy changes.
Quantified Impact: Track, validate, and own the quantification of vendor spend avoided and value unlocked through strategic analysis.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Analytics, Technology Information Systems, Innovation Strategy, or a related field (Recent Graduates encouraged).
Structured Research & Synthesis: Exceptional writing and analytical skills with a disciplined focus on writing for executive decision-making rather than word count.
Exceptional Technical Documentation: Expertise in translating complex technical parameters and multi-dimensional tech transformations into clear, visual, and highly structured business summaries (such as matrices and process maps).
Skeptical & Evidence-Driven Mindset: Skeptical by disposition; naturally treats vendor claims and market hype as unproven hypotheses requiring rigorous empirical proof.
Comfort with Uncertainty & Tech Stacks: Eager to navigate complex, multi-layered environments involving programmatic infrastructure, log-level ad data, SSP/ad server reporting, and data clean rooms.
Financial & Statistical Literacy: Capability to build financial models sufficient to size revenue opportunities and integration costs, and statistical literacy to distinguish actual signal from noise.
Uncompromising Integrity: Willingness to state uncertainty explicitly and report negative or failing pilot results clearly without softening outcomes.
WHY JOIN US?
This position offers a rare launchpad for a forward-thinking graduate to work at the intersection of business strategy, commercial tech, and future market dynamics. You will have direct exposure to executive decision-makers (including C-level leadership) and the autonomy to investigate complex industry challenges end-to-end.
This position will not be filled until consideration has been made by the CBC/Radio-Canada / APS Workforce Adjustment Committee.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next
step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:
A mandatory Criminal record check.
Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
