Job SummaryThis is a senior-level role designed for a highly skilled building performance professional specializing in energy modeling. The role emphasizes technical leadership, project oversight, and mentorship for junior and intermediate team members, as well as supporting business development and client interactions.
Responsibilities & QualificationsKey Responsibilities:
- Execute advanced and parametric energy simulations across multiple software platforms (e.g., eQuest, IESVE).
- Perform QA/QC reviews and maintain high-quality standards in deliverables.
- Lead in developing custom tools and workflows for improved modeling efficiency.
- Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and presentations.
- Interact professionally with clients and maintain long-term relationships.
- Support in workload planning.
- Supervise and coach junior and intermediate staff, ensuring quality delivery and professional growth.
- Provide technical guidance and delegate tasks efficiently.
Required Knowledge:
- Deep familiarity with building energy codes and green building standards: ASHRAE, NECB, LEED, CaGBC Zero Carbon, Passive House, etc. and provincial and municipal codes like BC Energy Step Code, Toronto Green Standard.
- Proficient understanding of MEP systems, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 4 years in energy modeling or design analytics
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng) required
- Desirable credentials: BEMP, LEED AP, CPHC/D
- Experience in energy audits and programming tools is a plus
- Demonstrated project management and leadership experience
Performance Expectations
- Able to independently lead junior and intermediate staff to deliver quality projects.
- Contribute to planning resources and timelines.
- Require minimal supervision from the principal-in-charge.
