Senior Associate Registrar, Exhibitions (Regular, Full-Time)

Reporting to the Head Registrar, the Senior Associate Registrar, Exhibitions supervises the exhibition registrar team and oversees all exhibition-related registration activities. Organizes and manages several large, complicated exhibitions as part of LACMA's in-house and internationally traveling exhibitions program.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises a team of exhibition registrars and administrators
- Mentors and trains junior registrars, provides guidance to senior registrars
- Manages the overall exhibition registrar schedule and project assignments
- Liaises with internal stakeholders for exhibition planning
- Reviews and negotiates loan agreements with lenders, including insurance, and communicates conservation, installation, and security requirements to staff
- Coordinates with all lenders and collaborating institutions the crating, shipping, and courier arrangements
- Plans and manages the installation and de-installation schedules for each exhibition
- Assembles and maintains condition reports; takes packing notes; creates installation instructions for traveling exhibitions
- Produces crating, shipping, condition reporting, and courier sections for Indemnity applications, as well as oversees all those arrangements for indemnified exhibitions at LACMA and subsequent venues
- Travels with exhibitions as a courier and oversees installation/de-installations of LACMA-organized exhibitions at other venues
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Benefits:
- The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $85,000-$92,000, subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA's comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in museum registration, preferably exhibition-related
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard museum practices and procedures
- Database knowledge is required (TMS experience preferred), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Google applications.
