Overview

We’relooking for a Senior Associate, PublicRelationsand Communicationstosupport the development and execution of strategic media programs that enhance brand visibility and reputation. This role will serve as a key point of contact for media inquiries and help drive proactive storytellingthat positions the company as the brand leader with leadingshare of voice.

Supportthe day-to-day execution and operational management of Progyny’s public relations function. This role is equalparts strategist and operator — someone who can translate high-level communications priorities into flawless execution and media engagement.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, understands how to drive integrated storytelling across channels, and can balance hands-on execution with team and process optimization. This person will serve as the engine behind the PR function — guiding execution, managing workflows, supporting spokespeople, and ensuring campaigns move efficiently from concept to coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop media plans to support product launches, research, and company news 

  • Build andmaintainrelationships with journalists, editors, and influencers 

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and briefing materials

  • Manage inbound media inquiries and coordinate interviews 

  • Proactively pitch stories to secure coverage across target outletsand maintainshare of voice

  • Prepare executives and subject matter experts for media interviews 

  • Drafthigh quality, on message and on voice,op-eds, bylines, Q&As, and talking points

  • Workcollaboratively with team to plan and coordinate press events, briefings, and announcements 

  • Research and support award submissions, speaking opportunities, and conference participation 

  • Understand the media and women’s health landscape, and news cycle   

  • Track and analyze coverage, delivering insights and recommendations  

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture  

Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or integrated marketing communications 

  • Experience in healthcare, benefits, women’s health, or B2B communications strongly preferred 

  • Proven experience managing PR campaigns from strategy through execution 

  • Strong media relationstrack record, including established media relationships and experience building new relationships with key journalists and outlets 

  • Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape and ability to think creatively about earned media strategy 

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills 

  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership and speaking opportunities 

  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and navigating cross-functional environments 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, workflows, and operational processes 

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 

  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate confidently with senior executives internally and externally 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred
