Technology & Experience (TechEx) - Software

We are seeking a Senior Architect, Software Engineering & AI to join our Software Engineering discipline in TechEx. This role is ideal for a senior technology leader who combines deep software architecture expertise with hands-on experience building modern, AI-enabled applications. You will help clients define technology strategies, architect enterprise solutions, and lead the delivery of innovative software products that leverage cloud-native technologies, Generative AI, intelligent agents, and modern engineering practices.

As a trusted advisor, you will partner with executive stakeholders, product leaders, and engineering teams to design and deliver scalable, secure, and impactful software solutions. You will also mentor and develop engineering talent while helping shape the future of Software Engineering and AI at West Monroe.

Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Solution Architecture
  • Partner with clients to solve complex business challenges through modern software engineering, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Lead architecture and technical design efforts across digital product development, application modernization, systems integration, and intelligent software platforms.
  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack solutions leveraging modern engineering practices and cloud-native architectures.
  • Architect AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, copilots, and workflow automation solutions using modern AI platforms and frameworks.
  • Lead software delivery teams through the full Agile lifecycle, including discovery, requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Establish architectural standards, development practices, and governance approaches that ensure long-term sustainability and scalability.

AI & Intelligent Systems

  • Design and implement AI-enabled software products that incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), intelligent agents, and machine learning capabilities.
  • Guide teams in the selection and implementation of AI platforms, frameworks, and integration patterns.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish practical approaches for enterprise adoption.
  • Promote responsible AI practices, including security, governance, risk management, and model evaluation.

Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the senior technical leader on client engagements and strategic initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

Software Engineering & Architecture
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and technology delivery.
  • Deep expertise designing and delivering enterprise-scale software applications and digital products.
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks including React, Angular, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Agile software delivery methodologies and leading cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and modern engineering practices.

AI & Emerging Technologies
  • Experience designing and implementing AI-enabled software solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI platforms and services such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock, or similar technologies.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
