  • Create financial and operational KPI reports with data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Review inventory counts, identify errors, and analyze shrink drivers with reporting support.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Fortinos Finance Team is a unique group within Loblaw that provides financial support to business partners across a wide range of activities. The team works closely with Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations in retail stores and production facilities specific to Fortinos, helping set, track, and achieve financial goals.

What you'll do
  • Provide financial planning and analytical support to all business partners, including variance analysis, reporting, and identification of risks and opportunities
  • Support the periodic financial close and forecasting cycles by delivering insights on performance, guidance on expected gaps, and plan/forecast variance analysis
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and periodic operational financial summaries
  • Support the annual planning and budgeting process
  • Prepare key financial and operational KPI reporting, offering data-driven insights to support decision-making
  • Review all inventory counts, identify potential material errors, analyze drivers of high shrink, and provide weekly and periodic reporting to support shrink-reduction objectives
  • Participate in special projects, prepare reports, and perform other duties as assigned
  • Contribute to a strong collaborative culture by building meaningful cross-functional relationships and fostering a workplace rooted in inclusiveness and belonging
  • Adopt Loblaw's hybrid working model, which requires working in the office a minimum of 4 days per week, with the ability to work remotely up to 1 day per week. This role also requires occasional travel to the Fortinos office in Hamilton, Ontario.

What you bring
  • Post-secondary education in Finance or a related field; experience in a fast-paced environment-particularly corporate and/or retail-considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years' finance or accounting experience
  • Enrollment in the CPA program considered an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments
  • Strong initiative and business acumen, with a continuous improvement mindset and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data and translate findings into meaningful and actionable insights
  • Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy considered an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
