Senior Analyst - Cost Control
Location: East Hartford, CT

Reports to: Supervisor, Cost Control

Work Type: Office

The salary range for this position is based on experience level ranging from $96,000 to $110,000 plus up to 16% bonus

Job Summary

The Senior Analyst - Cost Control within the Gas Construction Design & Delivery team is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to ensure effective cost control and budget management across gas construction projects. This role collaborates with project managers, engineering teams, and finance departments to monitor expenditures, forecast costs, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process completed inspections. Address inspectors' questions and concerns.
  • Manage restoration billing processes from beginning to end with a high urgency on timeliness and accuracy. Develop bid packages and prepare purchase requisitions.
  • Ability and initiative to solve complex and unusual assignments that may arise out of the typical process. Reconcile contractor invoices efficiently and timely, ensuring accurate billing based on contracts.
  • Empowered to resolve any contractors or customers complaints
  • Monitor and track project costs across gas construction design and delivery programs.
  • Develop and maintain cost forecasts, variance analyses, and budget reports.
  • Support the preparation of capital and operational budgets for gas infrastructure projects.
  • Analyze cost trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in cost control processes and tools.
  • Plan, develop and create work schedules to initiate restoration activities on customer properties.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Cost Controllers to execute construction project schedules while ensuring cost control processes are met.


Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of capital budgeting, cost control, and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience in gas utility or energy sector projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
