Senior Analyst, Capital Markets - JLL

What this job involves:

JLL Capital Markets provides investment brokerage and advisory services to institutions, public companies, fund managers, financial institutions, and property developers. As a Senior Analyst, Production Support on our Capital Markets team in Toronto, you will lead the underwriting and financial analysis of complex commercial real estate investment opportunities. You will be a key contributor to transaction execution, client presentations, and new business development efforts. This role offers significant responsibility in evaluating sophisticated transactions, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to shape investment strategies alongside senior leadership in one of Canada's most dynamic real estate markets.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead the critical analysis of financial data and comprehensive review of property-related documents including budgets, rent rolls, recovery schedules, amortization schedules, and lease documents, identifying key investment risks, opportunities, and value-add strategies
  • Build and analyze sophisticated financial models efficiently, utilizing ARGUS Enterprise software in the underwriting of commercial real estate investment opportunities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client investment criteria
  • Gather, evaluate, and synthesize economic, demographic, and real estate market data for input into project-specific deliverables, providing strategic insights and investment recommendations
  • Prepare and draft high-quality proposals and offering materials for new or existing assignments and pursuits, taking ownership of content development
  • Assist in due diligence and transaction management for commercial real estate transactions, coordinating between clients, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, articulating complex financial analysis and investment rationale with confidence


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field with strong academic credentials
  • 4+ years of professional experience in commercial real estate finance, investment analysis, capital markets, or related field
  • Proficiency in ARGUS Enterprise valuation software with minimum 2 years of hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling, cash flow analysis, investment return calculations, and transaction structuring
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex financial modeling), PowerPoint (executive-level presentation design), and Word
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to independently assess investment opportunities and provide strategic recommendations
  • Proven track record of managing multiple complex transactions simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality standards


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience executing capital markets transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, equity placements, or debt financings
  • Deep knowledge of commercial real estate asset classes such as office, industrial, retail, or multifamily properties with demonstrated sector expertise
  • Strong understanding of Canadian real estate markets, valuation methodologies, cap rate trends, and local market dynamics
  • Client-facing experience including leading presentations, pitch meetings, investor communications, or relationship management activities
  • CFA, MRICS, CCIM, or progress toward professional designation
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members

Estimated compensation for this position:

81,600.00 - 100,000.00 CAD per year

This range represents the estimated base salary and actual compensation may differ. Final base salary is determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Some roles and employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
