Senior Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer Level 4,,Everett, WABachelor, Master or Doctorate Must Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License Shift:First Start Time:7:00 AM End Time:3:30 PM Is Clearance Required To Start?:No Job Summary: Leads complex investigations into regulatory compliance issues for commercial aircraft programs. Works across engineering teams, leadership, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to aviation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead investigations related to FAA compliance actions, voluntary disclosures, audit findings, and airworthiness non-compliances
- Guide cross-functional engineering teams (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigation processes
- Define problem statements and perform in-depth root cause analysis to identify systemic issues
- Develop and implement containment, corrective, and preventive actions, including verification of effectiveness
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, executives, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and resolution
- Partner with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) to ensure regulatory compliance in documentation
- Drive continuous improvement of safety, compliance processes, and tools across the enterprise
- Communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Lead, influence, and mentor cross-functional teams on safety and compliance initiatives
Basic Qualifications: - 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex projects
- Ability to interact with senior leadership, customers, and regulatory agencies
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, BPSM)
- Knowledge of FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures
- Experience working with FAA or other regulatory authorities
- Background in aircraft systems design, analysis, or systems integration
- Familiarity with aircraft operations, certification, and safety requirements
- Pilot License or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (preferred)
Education & Experience: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant technical field with 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination (e.g., Master's + 8 years, or 14+ years of experience).
