Full Job Description
As a Senior Advisor IT Architecture, you design IT solutions to meet the business needs of large-scale projects or programs using Desjardins Group's architecture targets and shared platforms. You ensure consistency with the organization's structure, as well as current and future needs, and ensure that new elements are compatible with existing architecture. You lead and influence the organization's business partners and stakeholders on innovative, complex strategic initiatives related to solution architecture. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth expertise across several IT fields, including data, applications, security and infrastructure. You make recommendations on IT development and implementation strategies that comply with architecture targets. You produce specialized deliverables as part of projects or initiatives that have a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, in-depth understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with a very large number of stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Serve as an expert advisor on application solutions and operations architecture and as an integrator for one or more delivery teams for projects and initiatives in your specialty area that may have a significant, large-scale impact on the entire organization
  • Advise business partners and stakeholders to help them orient, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic initiatives under your responsibility. Organize, manage and, as needed, deliver work to provide guidance on specific technical subjects requiring the consensus of multiple stakeholders
  • Design IT solutions that meet business needs. Develop and update policies, standards, architecture targets and supporting foundations to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives, taking into account issues related to data, applications security and infrastructure
  • Identify and analyze potential IT solutions that meet the organization's needs. Identify and analyze issues. Report major issues. Establish guidelines and make recommendations to decision-making bodies and committees
  • Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
