Senior Administrative Assistant - R&ED

Position Summary

The Senior Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Senior Research Leadership team and the broader Research organization at Nurix Therapeutics, reporting to the Senior Executive Assistant to the CSO. This role is a critical partner in enabling leadership effectiveness - managing executive schedules, coordinating meetings and events, and supporting cross-functional operations across the department. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive & Leadership Support
  • Manage calendar, travel, and expense needs for senior research leaders, exercising judgment to prioritize competing demands
  • Anticipate leadership needs and proactively offer solutions
  • Serve as trusted backup to the Sr. Executive Assistant to the CSO
  • Support governance and external-facing meetings (e.g., JRC/JSC) with the logistics and attention to detail they require

Meetings & Events
  • Plan and execute departmental meetings, town halls, and internal events
  • Coordinate logistics for both recurring team touchpoints and larger onsite gatherings
  • Ensure a well-organized, professional attendee experience across event types

Conference & Travel Coordination
  • Manage group-level travel and conference planning for the Research organization
  • Balance cost-effectiveness with team needs when booking and coordinating
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for larger-scale or centralized travel efforts

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with HR, Facilities, Legal, Finance, and Talent Acquisition on shared initiatives
  • Support onboarding, candidate experience, and special projects touching the Research organization
  • Act as a connective resource across departments to keep collaborative efforts moving smoothly

Administrative Operations
  • Maintain organizational infrastructure, including distribution lists and shared resources
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new team members
  • Keep departmental systems and records current and accessible

Communications & Stakeholder Relationships
  • Draft and coordinate internal communications on behalf of leadership
  • Ensure consistent messaging and timely follow-through across teams
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent the leadership office with professionalism and discretion

Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline administrative workflows
  • Contribute to scalable processes and documentation for recurring departmental needs

Core Skills & Competencies:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and calendar management tools
  • Experience with expense reporting and procurement systems (e.g., Concur, Expensify)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interfacing at the senior leadership level
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities with minimal oversight

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years supporting senior leaders (Director level and above), ideally in a department-wide capacity
  • Experience in life sciences, biotech, pharma, or another scientific/technical R&D environment strongly preferred
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving biotech environment
