MDW Associates is currently seeking a
Senior Acquisition Analyst to work with our government client in Arlington, VA. The Senior Acquisition Analyst will support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), which plays a critical role within the Department of War (DoW).
This role is hybrid and is on-site two to three days per week.
The
Senior Acquisition Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
- Prepare, publish and maintain contracting policy memorandums and regulatory guidance.
- Coordinate with other Government agencies and stakeholders to support drafting, analysis, and staffing of tasks including but not limited to the following: Legislative Proposals; Congressional Reporting; memoranda; regulations; waivers; deviations; FOIA requests; audit responses; instructions; guidebooks; and training.
- Develop contracting-related legislation, policies, regulations, memoranda, and presentations (briefing slides) in support of:
- Defense Acquisition of Services policy matters and regulatory impacts, Services Acquisition Working Group (SAWG) initiatives and Services Review Panels (SRP).
- Workforce Development; Contract competition policy; AbilityOne, Section 889, Section 889; Cyber policies; Federal legislative process; war policy; and statutory frameworks governing DoW operations.
Required Experience/Skills:- At least 7 years of recent experience in drafting Acquisition policy, regulations, and legislation.
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in acquisition.
- Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent tasks with urgent deadlines, interfacing with other congressional analysts throughout the DoW, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Products must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to synthesize complex legislative language, quickly determining DoW equities (areas of DoW responsibility or impact).
Preferred Experience/Skills:- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certification in Acquisition Program Management Practitioner (or Legacy Level III) or Contracting Professional (or Legacy Level III) is highly desirable.
Education Requirements:- Master's Degree is required but a bachelor's degree may be substituted with a minimum of 7 years' experience in acquisition.
Security Requirements:- Candidates for this position must have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
