About the job Senior Accounting Manager

This is a hybrid role. Will report to our Manhattan office three days per week.
About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accounting Manager to support the accounting function and help build scalable financial processes as the company grows. This role will work closely with leadership and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, and account analyses.
- Support revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and other key accounting processes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other service providers.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and investor reporting as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and technology.
- Assist with financing activities, financial due diligence, and special projects.
Experience & Skills Include:- CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience in consumer businesses with inventory accounting required.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.
- Public accounting and/or audit background preferred.
- Apparel, fashion, retail, rental, subscription, or e-commerce experience preferred.
- Tech-savvy with experience using modern accounting systems and automation tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills - can work effectively and collaboratively with peers, and operates without ego.
- You believe that feedback is a gift; you can receive and grow from feedback, as well as share feedback appropriate with others.
- Nimble, scrappy and adaptable with a high sense of urgency. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, including pitching in to support other persons and teams

Compensation & Benefits- Pay range of $120,000 - $170,000, depending on relevant factors such as experience, skill sets and the final job level. The higher end of this range is reserved for candidates with higher experience and qualifications.
