Job Description: Senior Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

The Senior Accounting Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and ensuring

the integrity and accuracy of the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs finance operations. The position

involves working in conjunction with the finance outsourcing firm. This position will be the liaison

between the outsourcing firm and ULBGC along with serving as the liaison to the Investment

Committee. Reporting directly to the Pres & CEO. The Senior Accounting Manager collaborates with

the operations and development department to drive financial strategies, support audits and maintain a

robust financial structure in alignment with operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Compliance
  • Review the accuracy of financial statements provided by the outsourcing firm in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, grant requirements, and all relevant accounting
  • standards.
  • Manage and optimize banking relationships to maximize returns and minimize financial risks.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies and procedures to maintain operational efficiency and integrity.

Leadership & Team Oversight
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the finance committee, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Ensure the smooth and accurate processing of financial transactions, including payroll, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and billing/collections.
  • Support the outsourcing firm and evaluate performance.

Financial Reporting & Analysis
Direct the timely production of monthly and annual financial reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements. Partner with leadership to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and performance analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Audit & Grants Management
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee a smooth and efficient annual audit process, single audit, 990 preparation and financial statement process with the support of the outsourcing firm.
  • Ensure proper accounting for restricted funds and grant allocations.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience in nonprofit accounting, a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial regulations with 7 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in managing restricted funds, grants, and donor reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools (Quickbooks/Ramp), as well as advanced Excel skills.

$98,000 to $102,000
