Position Overview

Health Admins is experiencing rapid growth. As the organization scales, the Accounting Department requires elevated leadership capacity to ensure financial operations keep pace with this growth - maintaining accuracy, compliance, and integrity across an increasingly complex multi-entity environment.

The Senior Accounting Manager is a critical leadership hire who will work directly alongside the Controller to manage the full scope of accounting operations. This role is accountable for the multi-entity month-end close process, systems integration support during and after M&A activity, audit readiness, regulatory and tax compliance, and financial due diligence support. In addition, Finance at Health Admins plays a hands-on operating role - managing billing and collections processes, overseeing escrow accounts, handling exception management, and maintaining the accounting records for our Third-Party Administration (TPA) customers.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that requires a credentialed accounting professional with a public accounting pedigree, deep technical knowledge, and the leadership presence to manage a team and a growing set of responsibilities in a fast-moving, acquisition-driven company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Entity Month-End Close Management

Lead and manage the consolidated month-end close process across all legal entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with GAAP.

2. Audit Readiness & Compliance

Ensure Health Admins maintains a state of continuous audit readiness and full compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

3. M&A Due Diligence & Integration Support

Serve as the accounting subject-matter expert across the M&A lifecycle - from target evaluation through post-close integration.

4. Systems Integration & Accounting Technology

Act as the accounting representative in systems integration and ERP projects, ensuring financial data integrity is preserved and accounting workflows are properly configured.

5. Tax Compliance

Coordinate multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction tax compliance, working with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.

6. Billing, Collections & Escrow Operations

Oversee Finance's role as an operating function in the billing, collections, and escrow management lifecycle.

7. TPA Customer Accounting

Maintain complete, accurate, and client-ready accounting records for all TPA customers administered by Health Admins.

8. Team Leadership & Development

Build, manage, and develop an accounting team capable of supporting the company's growth trajectory.

Required Qualifications
• Active CPA license (required)
• Big 4 public accounting firm experience (required).
• Minimum 10+ years of total accounting experience, including public accounting tenure plus post-public industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity month-end close processes across multiple legal entities.
• Hands-on experience supporting financial due diligence or post-acquisition accounting integration in an M&A-active environment.
• Experience owning or coordinating external audit processes - workpaper preparation, auditor liaison, PBC schedule management.
• Demonstrated experience with tax compliance coordination across multiple entities and/or multiple state jurisdictions.
• Experience in financial operations roles that include billing, collections, escrow management, or accounts receivable at scale.
• Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required); graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills - able to present complex accounting issues clearly to non-accounting stakeholders and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
• Healthcare Payer, TPA, Health Plan, or Health Sharing Ministry (HCSM) industry experience
• Experience managing accounting for Third-Party Administration (TPA) operations and client fund accounting.
• Prior experience in a PE-backed or high-growth company undergoing an M&A rollup or platform-building strategy.
• Experience with sell-side or buy-side financial due diligence engagements as an accounting lead.
• Background managing escrow accounts or trust accounting in a regulated or fiduciary environment.
• Experience implementing or integrating accounting systems as part of an M&A integration or ERP migration project.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, QuickBooks, Enrollment 123, or merchant processing systems in a financial context.
• Prior management experience leading an accounting team of 2+ direct reports.
