Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and valuation within SAP and the general ledger.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, support cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review inventory adjustments and ensure proper valuation and reporting.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Review inventory-related costs and COGS, including logistics and operational expenses.
  • Perform GR/IR reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and variance analysis.

Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 5+ years of relevant experience to support Sungrow's expanding operations. This position will serve as a key contributor in inventory and cost accounting, with responsibility for inventory valuation, reconciliations, operational cost analysis, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, improve business processes, and deliver meaningful insights that support operational efficiency and business growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, inventory valuation, and related accounting transactions within SAP and the general ledger.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, support cycle counts and physical inventories and investigate inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Review inventory adjustments, transfers, write-offs, reserves, and inventory aging to ensure proper valuation and financial reporting.
  • Monitor inventory turnover, carrying costs, and excess or obsolete inventory, providing analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Review and analyze inventory-related costs and COGS, including freight, warehousing, logistics, customs duties, tariffs, and other operational expenses.
  • Perform GR/IR reconciliations, resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies, and partner with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Procurement, and AP teams to address outstanding issues.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare inventory, cost, and operational reporting, providing financial insights to support business and management decision-making.
  • Support tariff-related accounting and cost impact analysis, including tariff recovery initiatives and customer refund assessments.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, support audit requirements, and drive continuous process improvements in inventory and operational cost accounting.
