What you will be doing- Own the month-end close for assigned areas - journal entries, accruals, reserves, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis - and deliver accurate financial statements on a close calendar that gets shorter as we scale
- Own the full cycle for AP and AR: vendor invoice coding and approvals, customer invoicing, cash application, account reconciliation, and monitoring of both balances against aging and cash targets
- Prepare schedules, technical support, and documentation for the external audit, and serve as a primary point of contact for auditor requests
- Build and document repeatable processes and internal controls in anticipation of SOX compliance, including control narratives, evidence retention, and segregation-of-duties design
- Drive process improvement and automation across the close and transactional cycles - reducing manual effort so headcount growth stays well behind revenue growth
- Partner across FP&A, Operations, and Supply Chain on special projects, systems work, and ad hoc analysis as the business scales
You should have the following- 4-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting (audit) at a Big 4 firm
- CPA license, or CPA-eligible and actively pursuing certification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Industry experience at either a high-growth private company that scaled revenue materially, or a small-cap / recently public company - you've seen accounting infrastructure get built rather than inherited a mature one
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated ownership of month-end close cycles end to end
- Hands-on experience with a mid-market or enterprise ERP (NetSuite strongly preferred; Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar considered) plus advanced Excel - pivot tables, lookups, and comfort working with large transaction-level data sets
- Exposure to SOX and internal controls over financial reporting, whether through audit engagements or in-house implementation
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and credibly to executives, cross-functional peers, and external auditors
- High attention to detail paired with sound judgment on materiality, and comfort operating with ambiguity in a fast-changing environment
Nice to have- Direct involvement in IPO readiness or an S-1 process - technical memos, PCAOB-standard audits, or public-company reporting infrastructure
- Inventory and cost accounting experience in a hardware, manufacturing, or physical-product business
- Experience implementing or migrating an ERP, or standing up automation across close and transactional processes
