Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing complex account reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, audit support, and process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Major Duties & Responsibilities- Perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, and reconciliations for general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement accounts
- Prepare fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate and complete
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with annual external audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers
- Assist with tax, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
- Maintain and document accounting procedures and internal controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, payroll, operations, and external partners
- Participate in and support special accounting projects as assigned

Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting required
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., Eclipse, Oracle, Great Plains, Peachtree, or similar systems)
