Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting - HybridNew Britain, CT, USATowson, MD, USAValley City, OH, USAThe Job: As a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, you'll be part of our Corporate Accounting team working as a hybrid employee. You'll get to:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes
- Responsible for the month end, quarter end and year end close processes for Corporate related functions (i.e. Derivatives, Debt, Retirement Plans, Equity, Prepaid Expenses, Self-funded reserves, etc.) that includes the following:
- Prepares and posts journal entries and understands the technical accounting supporting journal entries
- General ledger reconciliation
- Financial statement analysis
- Actively engage business leaders and various corporate and business departments to drive efficiency in accounting close and resolve issues
- Coordinates, reviews and prepares schedules for internal and external auditors
- Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues
- Coordinate with Businesses & IT to enhance the General Accounting system(s)
- Assist non-financial departments with reporting and accounting issues and participate in financial projects and initiatives
- Provide guidance and support to team members to help improve performance and develop technical competencies
- Assist with accounting policy or procedure changes, communication needs, etc.

- BS in Accounting required.
- Self-motivated CPA with 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid technical skills and ability to analyze new transactions.
- Exhibits strong time management skills and able to work through roadblocks to meet commitments timely.
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion (Enterprise/HFM) systems preferred.
- Possesses excellent written and interpersonal communications, should be able to effectively collaborate and interact with others.
- Self-motivated and able to work on cross functional teams.
- Innovated team player that challenges current processes.

The Salary range for this position is $77,600.00 - $124,900.00
