Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description
This role offers an experienced Senior Accountant the opportunity to support the financial operations of a fast-paced construction organization while also contributing to accounting activities for investment entities, real estate holdings, and affiliated companies. You will manage full-cycle accounting processes, lead key aspects of the month-end close, and prepare accurate financial statements for multiple entities. The position suits a detail-oriented, analytical professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and partnering with leadership across diverse business interests. You will join a large accounting and finance team with significant opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting activities for multiple entities, including construction operations, investment entities, real estate holdings, and affiliated companies.
  • Lead and perform month-end close responsibilities independently, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is accurate and complete.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and financial reports for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries for recurring and non-recurring transactions.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Support property accounting and investment accounting activities, including tracking performance and recording related transactions.
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
  • Assist in financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision-making across multiple business interests.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues by applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with team members within a large accounting and finance team to improve processes and support continuous growth.
  • Organize and maintain documentation to support audits, reviews, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to explain financial results, clarify variances, and support operational needs.
Essential Skills

Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position working Monday through Friday. Typical hours are either 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering some flexibility within standard business hours. You will work as part of a large accounting and finance team in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment that supports professional development and advancement.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
