Senior Account Manager (Public Relations)

Transparency matters to us. For this role, you can expect a salary between $77,000-95,000 annually, depending on experience. This is for a new vacancy.

About the Role

First and foremost, a Senior Account Manager is responsible for effectively managing client teams and programs. We're looking for you to display an in-depth understanding of consumer and brand communications, media relations and engaging digital Canadians. The right Senior Account Manager will be creative, strategic, organized, inquisitive and bold in their thinking. They'll be open to exploring new ideas and venturing into new territory but balancing it all with a sensible approach to generating earned media. They'll be able to work in a fast-paced environment and will know what creates a great story, what resonates with the media and how to craft these ideas into campaigns that deliver results for our clients. In this role, you will:
  • Participate in the development of campaign insights and strategy with senior team members
  • Lead PR and creative teams in the development and presentation of strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Serve as the lead day-to-day client contact across multiple accounts
  • Provide strong guidance and advice to clients with support from more senior members of the team
  • Manage entire client campaigns including delegation of assignments and managing peers and vendors
  • Effectively develop and edit written materials with strong attention-to-detail
  • Support client crisis events by helping lead specific tasks as directed with limited oversight from senior team members
  • Ability to work with inter-agency partners / other internal digital & creative departments to develop an integrated marketing & PR recommendation for clients
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple accounts and clients at a time
  • Confidently present proposals and offer strategic recommendations and responses to clients in the moment
  • Support new business pitch development by overseeing the development of PR tactics
  • Build and manage comprehensive budgets
  • Is a trusted resource for junior team members who need advice or guidance on campaign specific matters

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years communications experience in an agency or corporation. Agency experience working with larger, complex organizations preferred
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker - Creative and analytical in gathering information about clients' industries and business. Can effectively apply what's 'known' toward measurable and effective communications strategies that generate desired results, and grow client relationships
  • Strong writer - Capable of delivering effective and creative written products for clients, including media materials, speaking notes and executive blog posts
  • Advisor - Demonstrates an excellent understanding of the clients' businesses runs effective client meetings and shows a high level of integrity in providing advice and counsel to support teams
  • True teammate - Who understands the importance of advanced planning, well designed processes and measurement as tools to help optimize the long term success of group and team activities
  • Media relations - Strong understanding of storytelling. Proven media relationships and results
  • Professional and ethical - While upholding our values of quality, integrity, respect and an entrepreneurial spirit
