Full Job Description
The Segment Manager (Biomass & Industrial) is responsible for driving capital equipment sales and developing strategic market plans within the Biofuel and Industrial segments across North America. This role focuses on building key customer relationships, identifying new applications, collaborating with sales and technical teams, and ensuring achievement of sales targets to strengthen our competitive position in the Biomass industry.

What You Will Be Doing

Here's an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:
  • Develop, cultivate, track, report, and pursue capital equipment sales in the Biomass and Industrial industries, with a primary focus on North America
  • Develop and execute the Biofuel and Industrial segment capital sales strategy, including collaboration with Territory Managers and Agents to establish a comprehensive market plan
  • Define and set annual sales targets and budgets in collaboration with the North America Sales & Service Manager
  • Develop target and key account strategies to maintain a competitive position and maximize order intake
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to monitor trends, identify emerging opportunities, and refine go-to-market strategies
  • Identify and develop new applications within the Biomass and Industrial sectors, including pilot test work and tailored solution development
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, decision-makers, and industry stakeholders
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to strengthen brand presence and gather market insights
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve customer engagement, retention, and satisfaction throughout the full sales cycle
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and service teams to ensure customized, technically sound solutions aligned with customer needs
  • Oversee the development of proposals and quotations, ensuring technical accuracy, commercial viability, and alignment with customer expectations
  • Support Territory Managers and Agents by providing training and subject-matter expertise related to the Biofuel and Industrial segments, enhancing their technical selling capabilities
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline in the CRM system, including opportunity tracking, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics and KPIs, ensuring visibility into order intake and progress toward strategic objectives

What We're Looking For

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in capital equipment sales, business development, or segment/market management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical sales processes and support customer solution development
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable developing and executing market or account strategies with minimal oversight
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office)


Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:
  • Experience in Industrial pelleting, categorized as any non-feed or biomass pelleting processes, and/or Biofuel/Biomass pelleting.
  • Familiarity with industrial and biomass process applications, pilot testing, or equipment implementation
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams (e.g., engineering, product development, service)
  • Background in capital equipment proposals, budgeting, and customer negotiations
  • Knowledge of industrial market trends and emerging opportunities in the renewable energy or biomass sectors
  • Experience working in B2B environments with complex or consultative sales cycles


Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

  • Must be able to work from a home office environment with reliable internet access and maintain productivity independently
  • Frequent visits to industrial customer sites, including manufacturing plants, mills, and processing facilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and navigate uneven or industrial terrain during plant and field visits
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, or carrying of equipment, parts, or tools up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to typical industrial environments including loud noise, dust, vibrations, moving machinery, and temperature extremes
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hard hats, hearing protection, and other gear as dictated by site-specific safety standards
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, sometimes in tight or confined spaces during inspections or troubleshooting
  • Participation in hands-on technical training and field support may require extended standing, kneeling, or bending


Other Requisites:
  • Travel within the region in support of customer relationships and business opportunities (50-70%).
  • Legal status to work in the United States is required
