The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Security Specialist, GG-0080-12 located at the C3I & Networks Information Protection (HNV) at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX.
Special Salary Rate: $90,000 - 102,000
Recruitment incentives may be available based on eligibility.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position, you serve as an AFLCMC/HNC Security Specialist to protect the enterprise from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to enterprise and enterprise mission interest, national defense, or national security.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
Must sign a non-disclosure agreement
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices
Knowledge of security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies
Knowledge of a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, training concepts, programs, procedures, practices, and guidance to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs
Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations, and improve the security program for the Group
Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M and AFI 36-2645
