Our Equity Relative Value ("EqRV") strategy depends on Sector Specialists who run a dollar-neutral, pairs portfolio within their respective sector of expertise.

We are seeking a Sector Specialist in the REIT's sector to join our EqRV team. You will be expected to conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, build out your own financial models for the sector based on financial statements, and use this information to identify potential large-cap, equity, pair trades to be included in our funds. Your fundamental research and ideas will be enhanced by our proprietary pairs analysis process to lend validation to the most profitable opportunities for our investors. You will be supported by a world-class trading desk with a cumulative 31 years of experience trading relative value pairs. You will report directly to the CIO, and your investment ideas will be critical in making informed investment decisions for our funds.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience with a Wall Street institution specifically analyzing large-cap public equity companies within the REIT's sector
• Investment experience should include responsibility for names within the REIT's sector
• Demonstrated financial modeling and empirical research skills
• Ability to work independently and willingness to collaborate with all Carlson teams
• This position is full-time in the office, in Dallas, Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
• CFA or other relevant certifications
• Experience with custom data analysis software
• Strong track record of successful investment recommendations
• Naturally curious and passionate about the REITs' Sector
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Generate pair trades for inclusion in the EqRV strategy
• Conduct research and analysis of the sector to identify potential investment opportunities
• Evaluate financial statements, market trends, and economic data to determine the viability of potential investments
• Collaborate with the CIO and other Sector Specialists to develop investment ideas around current trends and themes
• Monitor and report on the performance of investments in the sector
• Stay up to date with industry news and trends to inform investment decisions, incorporating Carlson analytics into trading decisions

Skills:

Must have a passion for investments and be able to demonstrate experience and expertise within the sector. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are expected. Experience with financial modeling and data analysis software is necessary, as is a strong track record of successful investment recommendations.
