Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis within Scrum Team to prioritize features and user stories
  • Coordinate with Product Owners to manage priorities and facilitate daily stand-up meetings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors for timely software releases via Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Address systems integration and compatibility issues, while gathering application requirements from users
  • Conduct feasibility analysis on future projects and provide recommendations
  • Evaluate application software packages and testing tools, resolving software issues and suggesting enhancements
  • Contribute to software user manuals and technical documentation
  • Support Chief Enterprise Architect and senior leadership to ensure cross-team collaboration and project success
  • Assist Government Product Owners in managing Product Backlog duties
  • Act as liaison between clients and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of business needs
  • Manage requirements and changes with structured documentation techniques
  • Participate in Program-Level Ceremonies and present team updates during quarterly sessions
  • Utilize Jira/Confluence for creating and updating user stories, and maintain project status reports
  • Apply knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Kanban in daily activities

Responsibilities

Peraton is looking to hire a Scrum Master in the Washington DC Metro area.  This role will be a remote position.   At times the role will also require travel to the Quantico client site when necessary.

 

What you'll do:

  • Leads analysis within assigned Scrum Team to build and prioritize features, user stories, and identify team velocity 
  • Works with Product Owners to identify priorities, participate in Sprint Reviews, Backlog Refinement, and lead team daily stand-up meetings
  • Works collaboratively among cross-functional teams and multiple vendors to execute timely releases of code and provide business support to provide development and/or sustainment of a software environment that covers the entire Software Development Lifecycle using current methodologies to include Continuous Deployment, Agile, and Development Operations (DevOps)
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms and leads project team and coordinate with end users to identify application requirements 
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management  
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools and resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements  
  • Participates in development of software user manuals and technical reports
  • Provides support to the Chief Enterprise Architect, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and Senior Leadership. Coordinate intra-team, external-team, cross-ART, and cross-functional cooperation to facilitate synergy and success across the Program
  • Assist the Govt. Product Owners in meeting their duties and responsibilities and managing the Product Backlog
  • Work independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance related to the business implications of the application of the system
  • Acts as a liaison between client and technical solutions/support groups, using strong communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate business processes and solution requirements
  • Supports requirements management and change management processes using structured techniques for documentation, analysis, evaluation/validation 
  • Distinguishing requests vs needs; distinguishing requirements vs solutions; classifying/prioritizing requirements and attends Program-Level Ceremonies and Reviews on behalf of the Scrum Team and brief Team status during Quarterly Program Increment Planning sessions
  • Creates and update user stories in Jira/Confluence and Submits weekly and monthly status reports and deliverables 
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) process, Kanban Framework, and Waterfall methodologies and how to utilize these within day-to-day activities
Qualifications

  • Clearance:  active TS/SCI clearance 
  • Familiarity with ticketing system, such as ServiceNow and Utility Tools knowledge (JIRA/Confluence/GitLab/Artifactory)
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships with customers, teaming partners and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to resolve customer issues very quickly and accurately
  • Experience with software development (such as Java or Pega) and full-stack development 
  • Knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, system development life cycle and project management frameworks 
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum) 
  • Must be local to the Washington DC Metro area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CI/CD experience 
  • Experience in AWS Web Server, HTML, CSS, JS, Identify and Access Management (IdAM), API Gateway
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
