Full Job Description
Scrum Master - AI Delivery

Role Overview

The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring structured, predictable, and transparent delivery of AI initiatives supporting insurance and claims operations. This role reinforces disciplined Agile practices, protects sprint commitments, and enables sustainable delivery velocity in a high-demand, regulated operational environment.

The Scrum Master supports AI teams working on solutions that directly impact claims workflows, customer experience, financial outcomes, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The Scrum Master facilitates all Agile ceremonies, ensuring Sprint Planning sessions reflect realistic capacity and clear objectives grounded in operational priorities. They work closely with the Product Manager/Owner to confirm backlog readiness, ensuring stories are sufficiently detailed to reflect claims workflows, system dependencies, and compliance considerations before entering a sprint.

They monitor delivery health using metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, and unplanned work percentage, identifying patterns that may signal systemic inefficiencies or recurring disruptions. In an environment where client escalations, regulatory updates, or operational emergencies may arise, they actively protect sprint integrity while coordinating appropriate channels for reprioritization outside of sprint boundaries.

They proactively identify impediments related to data access, integration constraints, security reviews, model validation processes, or cross-team dependencies, and work with Technology leadership to resolve them quickly.

The Scrum Master reinforces discipline around change management, ensuring mid-sprint injection of urgent requests is controlled and that stakeholders understand the operational impact of disrupting sprint commitments.

They foster continuous improvement by facilitating structured retrospectives that focus on delivery efficiency, collaboration effectiveness, and quality of outputs. They encourage psychological safety and shared accountability within the team, particularly important in AI initiatives that may require experimentation and iteration.

Additionally, they maintain transparent dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide leadership with clear visibility into sprint progress, risk exposure, and delivery predictability without undermining team focus.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery environments
  • Experience supporting technical or analytics-driven teams
  • Understanding of regulated operational environments such as insurance or managed claims services
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to operate effectively within matrixed, multi-LOB enterprise structures
