The Regional Manager of Administration will work closely with the Managing Director Wealth Advisory, provides leadership and direction to the Branch Administrators and supervises the Regional Support Staff, ensuring that business and operational strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and implemented in accordance with applicable regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Responsible for contributing to the overall success of the region by ensuring a high level of client service achieved by effective operations, creating a high-performance environment and implementing a human resources people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment. Communicate the vision, values and business strategy and manage succession planning and team development. Partnering with head office teams as applicable.

Responsibilities
    • As a member of the Wealth Advisory Quebec management committee, lead the execution of the business plan and operational initiatives while ensuring strategic alignment and high collaboration amongst business lines (McLeod, MD and SJF) and partners
    • Leads and drives a bottom-up & customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
    • Drives Regional and National initiatives, working closely with the Managing Director, branch management teams, sales management, business partners to:
      • Implement the ScotiaMcLeod and Scotia Wealth Management strategy
      • Lead the organization of annual regional conferences, clients conference and offsites
    • Support branch management teams and Wealth advisory regional management through ongoing collaboration by providing:
      • Effective Performance Management
      • Employee Training & Development
      • Change Management
      • Licensing and regulatory requirements,
      • Engaging and transparent communication
      • Engaging appropriate business and sales management partners as required.
    • Act as liaison (when required) between the Region's Branches, Sales Management and head office partners to resolve outstanding issues, ensure consistent and efficient processes and practices. Facilitate communications between Head Office departments and Branch Administrators on issues, processes, and programs
    • Review and approve all changes to branch support staff to ensure consistent application of ScotiaMcLeod's strategic initiatives, and Scotiabank policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Support the Branch Management teams in preparation of competitive recruit hires, facilitating required paperwork and support from the Advisor Transition Services team.
    • Understand how the risk appetite and risk culture of the Bank and the company should be taken into account in day-to-day operations and decisions.
    • Create an environment in which his/her team conducts effective and efficient activities in his/her respective areas, while ensuring the relevance, compliance and effectiveness of day-to-day operational controls to meet obligations related to operational risks, regulatory compliance risks, AML risks and code of conduct risks, including, but not limited to, responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere
  • 10+ experience in the financial industry, with 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of the wealth management industry, including in-depth compliance and regulatory knowledge is a plus
  • Good working knowledge of human resources policies and legislation
  • Licensed as an Investment Representative (IR) with CIRO and Supervisor licensing considered an asset
  • Solid knowledge of sales management processes, comfort/experience in financial analysis
  • This position requires the following skills and experience:
