Day to Day Duties Include:
- Design and synthesize novel compounds aimed at treating human diseases, with a focus on protein homeostasis and induced proximity, in the Oncology therapeutic area.
- Apply advanced organic chemistry techniques and contemporary medicinal chemistry strategies to address project-specific challenges.
- Integrate computational and automated chemistry approaches to identify, design, and synthesize novel therapeutic compounds.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of academic / industry experience or Master’s degree and 3+ years of academic / industry experience or PhD in Chemistry and no years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in organic chemistry with 0-2 years of additional related research experience.
- Experience applying machine learning, computational tools, parallel synthesis or advanced technologies to enhance chemistry research, efficiency, and innovation
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute multistep synthesis of complex organic molecules using modern techniques in organic chemistry.
- Expertise in the purification and characterization of organic compounds
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of synthetic methods and reaction mechanisms.
- Good oral/written communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
- The ideal candidate will attach a research summary, no more than 3 pages.

Compensation Overview:
San Diego - CA - US: $124,430 - $150,782
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
