Full Job Description
We are seeking a Scientific Technical Solutions Lead to join the team developing scientific Solutions built on Dotmatics LUMA, a next-generation, multi-tenant, AI-powered data management and workflow automation for multimodal scientific discovery. As a Scientific technical lead on the team, you will work closely with other Solution Architects, product management, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional product capabilities via Luma Solutions.
Your focus will be on designing and implementing the configuration necessary to realise product vision and on ensuring that this configuration follows best practices within the Life Sciences and Chemical & Material space.
This role offers the opportunity to shape a foundational part of the modern lab-helping scientists work faster, smarter, and with greater impact.
In this role you will get to:
• Design configuration: Collaborate with Product to determine application structure, define entity/data models, specify task workflows (Scientific Workflows) , and define desired data visualization experiences
• Develop configuration: Create registration entities, data flows, task templates, data visualization experiences, and other configurations in support of developing Luma Solutions that will be delivered as part of the product
• Test and troubleshoot configuration: Perform in-team testing of configuration and assist is handing test cases to the QA group for release testing. Troubleshoot configuration to understand why it is not producing desired results.
• Contribute to documentation: Write draft documentation of configuration and workflows and collaborate with the Documentation team to develop final customer-facing documentation
• Train internal and external users: Train members of other Dotmatics teams and early customers on how to use Luma Solutions configuration and the workflows it supports
• Provide input into new product features: Use new product features in Luma Solutions and provide feedback on the experience, participate in user experience testing, and provide input to the Product team about features that will enable the best Solutions
• Champion quality and best practices: Actively participate in the development of best practices for Luma configuration, and ensure these best practices are followed in the development of Luma Solutions
We are looking for people who have 10+ years of hands-on experience building and delivering informatics solutions for Life Sciences customers. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Data Science, Chemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related technical discipline - and brings a genuine passion for quality and continuous improvement, fueled by a drive to solve problems that truly matter.
The key skills we are looking for:
• Life Science Industry experience, either as a Scientific Solution Architect, technical application Scientist or a Scientist who has been heavily involved with designing products or technical applications
• Advanced expertise in data modeling, with a proven ability to design robust, scalable data structures
• Expert-level proficiency in configuring low-code platforms and designing end-to-end workflows
• Demonstrated success delivering scientific data platforms or tools spanning data modeling, ETL, APIs, and BI/reporting
• Expert-level SQL skills, with strong working knowledge of Python and JSON
• Deep experience integrating tools and modules to architect complete, cohesive solutions
• Strong analytical ability to translate product requirements into precise technical configuration designs
• Excellent communication skills - able to distill complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
• Experience running and/or supporting scientific workflows in a production or research environment

• Experience running scientific test cases
• Understanding of software testing and or SDLC
• Working knowledge of Databricks
• Drug Discovery or Biotechnology industries or Other scientific Industries
