Full Job Description
Co-Lead K-5 Science Teacher

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a K-5 co-lead science teacher who will work in collaboration with our current science teacher to begin in August 2026. We are looking for a dynamic and enterprising individual who has a passion for working with elementary students, a command of current pedagogical techniques, and a strong knowledge of elementary science instruction. Candidates will preferably have three or more years of teaching experience at the elementary level.

Essential Duties:
  • Plan and co-teach weekly K-5 science classes
  • Plan, support, and facilitate enriching curriculum along with the science teacher and Lower School homeroom teachers
  • Contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of the science curriculum and scope and sequence
  • Understand and implement current and engaging science practices both in and out of the classroom
  • Contribute to making recommendations involving the purchase of supplies and materials
  • Implement the long-range plan in consultation with the science teacher partner
  • Participate in current professional development and implement best practices

Experience and Training:

BA Degree required; Master's Degree and teaching experience in an elementary school environment is strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION: Brentwood School's diverse and talented faculty ranges widely in experience level, from those new to teaching to veterans who are experts in their respective disciplines with 30+ years of experience. Our salary range, of $82,000 to $135,000, includes all levels of experience. Salaries are determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, and number of months worked per school year. Salary ranges do not include benefits i.e., 403b retirement matching, paid lunch time, free breakfast and lunch, free parking, subsidy toward medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D plans, and generous time off. The pay range is an estimate and is not guaranteed. If hired, your actual base salary will be determined by your education, experience, and schedule.
