Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Scala, Java, and Akka technologies. The ideal candidate will have significant experience developing data streaming solutions using Akka, strong Java 17 experience, and a proven ability to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, highly available software solutions. The role will focus on building platform notification services that enable customers to receive alerts for events critical to the efficient operation of engines and machines.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop services using Scala and Akka technologies.
• Perform programming, project management, and development assignments independently, including complex systems work.
• Work directly on complex application and technical problem identification and resolution.
• Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components supporting one or more applications or systems.
• Drive application development focused on delivering business-value features.
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software at scale.
• Mentor and assist software engineers by providing technical assistance and direction.
• Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing and promoting good development practices.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Guide the development of structured application and interface code, program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides.
• Communicate with end users and internal customers to support development, debugging, and testing of application software.
• Perform integration testing and customer acceptance testing with careful planning and execution.
• Support application accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of total IT experience.
• 2+ years of recent Scala programming experience, with experience using Scala within the last 2 years.
• 2+ years of significant Akka data streaming experience, primarily using Akka Streaming within the last 2 years.
• Strong experience with Java 17.
• Strong experience with Akka technologies.
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience or Master's degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience designing and implementing high-availability and reliable software solutions.
• Experience with application architectural patterns such as MVC, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
• Experience working within an Agile framework, preferably Scrum.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing well-defined Spring Boot RESTful APIs.
• Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
• Experience deploying and maintaining software using AWS.
• Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, ALB, NLB, Fargate, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and AWS DynamoDB.
• Experience performing integration testing and customer acceptance testing.
• Experience mentoring software engineers and providing technical direction.
