Role Overview:This role focuses on ensuring robust Master Data Governance within the SAP system, critical for effective business processes and sound decision-making. The Supply Chain Data Analyst supports SAP supply chain master data, providing expertise to business users and partners, and is responsible for implementing governance strategies, managing projects, and offering day-to-day production support.
Key Responsibilities:- Goods receipt/issue, stock transfers
- Physical inventory / cycle counting
- Batch management, special stock types (consignment, project stock)
- Valuation (moving average, standard price)
- MIRO / logistics invoice verification, GR/IR reconciliation, Tolerance settings, blocking reasons
- FI (account determination, OBYC), SD (for STOs, intercompany), PP (for production-related procurement), WM/EWM (warehouse execution)
- Legacy material master, vendor, open PO, and open GR/IR data extraction and load (LSMW, BODS, Migration Cockpit for S/4HANA)
- Open purchase order and open contract migration strategy
- Physical inventory reconciliation between legacy and SAP at cutover
- Sequencing: master data first ? open transactional data ? stock/inventory
- Freeze period management - no legacy transactions once extraction begins
- Mock cutover runs (dress rehearsals) to validate timing and data accuracy
- Stock quantity/value reconciliation (legacy vs SAP), Open PO/PR balance validation, GR/IR clearing account balance checks post-load
- Troubleshooting MM transaction issues in the days/weeks after go-live
- Handling exceptions from incomplete or mismatched legacy data
- Quick-fix configuration for edge cases discovered post-go-live
- Aligning MM cutover activities with FI (inventory valuation posting), SD (STO/intercompany flows), and Basis (system readiness)
- Provide cross-functional and geographic perspectives on data governance.
- Provide leadership and suggestions for proactive data auditing and lifecycle management.
- Implement data quality metrics and help interpret any trends on data quality within their functional area/geography.
- Monitor business conformity to governance rules and policies.
- Drive the completion of assigned data auditing tasks.
- Develop consistent procedures, processes, and tools across Integrated Services MDM
- Protect the integrity and accuracy of data to be loaded into the SAP system
- Articulate the impact to master data of IT design, business processes, & end user transactions
