SAP Solutions Architect in Portland, Oregon - This position is located at NW Natural's Portland, OR headquarters, with the option to telecommute from anywhere in the United States

Job Duties: Manage architecture analysis, research, design and development of new functionality and integration with key applications and services under SAP ecosystems. Design end-to-end solutions that leverage SAP software to meet business objectives, which involves understanding business requirements and translating them into technical solutions and ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Customize and configure SAP software to align with requirements, which may involve defining custom business processes, configuring system settings, and developing custom extensions or integrations. Act as a T-skilled resource with breadth across extensive SAP offerings (mile wide, inch deep) and utilizing key modules including: Plant Maintenance (PM), Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO) and Materials Management (MM). Understand end-to-end business processes and how SAP configurations impact each domain. Provide holistic solutions that span multiple functional areas with an understanding of how outputs of one process act as inputs to the next. Develop scalable and flexible architectures for SAP solutions, which requires deep understanding of SAP architecture principles and configuration options. Lead configuration efforts, ensuring optimal system setup. Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements into SAP configurations. Document and present solution designs to various parties: executives, steering committees, governance teams as well as direct contributors. Work with others, listening to needs and concerns, discussing pros and cons of options, cross checking designs and how design will work in concert with other parts of the overall solution, and communicating design to many different audiences. Work closely with broader support teams to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. Provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and share best practices. Monitor the work of the team and ensure standards are adhered to in accordance with best practices and desired use of the system. Participate in product roadmap and product strategy definition. Assess the current state of SAP systems and recommend improvements for continued maturity. Act as a mentor and coach to broader team by sharing solution and technical/functional expertise. Provide senior level support for ongoing SAP projects and production support efforts, mitigating risks and addressing challenges. Assist and review with the creation of training, product, and solution documentation. Ensure customer satisfaction through quality work and effective communication throughout projects. Hold self and others accountable to the committed deadlines and ensure successful deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, plus 6 years of progressive post-bachelor's work experience as an SAP Consultant, System Integration Engineer, Lead/Architect, Analyst, or related position. Experience must include:

  • 6 years of experience configuring and enabling business processes within SAP
  • 6 years of experience implementing SAP solutions and providing support across diverse functional areas within the organization, such as finance, operations, human resources, supply chain and engineering.
  • 6 years of experience working in both on-premises and cloud-based SAP environments
  • 6 years of experience utilizing SAP modules such as Finance, MM, and PM
  • 6 years of experience developing solution designs and technical responses to business challenges and presenting them to managerial and executive stakeholders

Salary: $186,304.08 per year

Annual Target Incentive: Grade 24, 12.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
