SAP Project Manager
Contribute to the success of key project initiatives and support meaningful mission outcomes as an SAP Project Manager at GDIT. In this role, you’ll help drive high‑quality results for critical government programs.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an SAP Project Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will directly support the mission of the Department of Homeland Security. You will play a key role in transitioning the enterprise from its existing SAP environment to a modern SAP S/4HANA platform. In this role, you’ll oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of transition activities across a complex, mission‑essential SAP landscape.
You will ensure the project stays on schedule, within scope, and aligned with the customer’s technical and operational requirements. By guiding the migration strategy, coordinating teams, and managing risks, you will help the customer maintain efficient, accurate, and compliant financial operations throughout the transition. Your leadership enables the agency to modernize its system, improve automation, enhance data accuracy, and operate with greater transparency, reliability, and operational effectiveness to strengthen its mission.
Duties of the GDIT SAP Project Manager:
● Manage the overall transition from ECC to SAP S/4HANA, including project scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
● Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure aligned delivery of modernization activities.
● Guide solution design and project decisions to support clean‑core principles, automation, and data integrity.
● Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and impacts throughout the migration.
● Maintain project plans, roadmaps, and timelines to keep modernization efforts on track.
● Oversee readiness assessments, fit‑gap analyses, and process improvement opportunities.
● Manage stakeholder communication to provide clear updates on progress, issues, and decisions.
● Support data migration planning, validation, and cutover execution.
● Oversee testing cycles and defect resolution to ensure solutions meet requirements.
● Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, security standards, and federal financial compliance.
● Support organizational change management, including training and user readiness.
● Lead cutover planning and post‑go‑live stabilization to ensure a smooth transition.
● Help ensure the modernized system improves automation, accuracy, transparency, and mission effectiveness.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
● Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher
● Experience: 10+ years of SAP-related experience
● Technical skills: SAP Functional expertise, Project management
● Experience with SAP S/4HANA in the Federal Market
● Experience with Stakeholder Management
● Experience with Complext SAP programs
● Use of Agile Methodologies
● Good communication skills, Logic and Reasoning skills
● Some Travel Required to Client Site
● Public Trust Background Investigation Required
● US citizenship required
The likely salary range for this position is $229,500 - $310,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
