Job SummaryThe Consultant FUNC MM supports the design, configuration, and delivery of SAP Materials Management solutions that help clients improve procurement, inventory, and supply chain processes. This role works closely with business and technical teams to gather requirements, configure system functionality, and support implementation activities across SAP environments. The consultant contributes to successful project delivery by ensuring solutions are aligned with business needs, quality standards, and overall transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP MM solutions.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional solutions.
- Lead or support fit-to-standard workshops, process analysis, and solution validation activities.
- Configure core MM functions such as purchasing, inventory management, goods receipt, goods issue, invoice verification, and material master processes as applicable.
- Support testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration with finance, warehouse, logistics, and other related processes.
- Prepare documentation, functional specifications, and user support materials as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide practical recommendations to improve processes and system performance.
- Ensure delivery aligns with Syntax standards, project timelines, and client expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in functional design, delivery methods, and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications- Experience in SAP Materials Management with hands-on functional consulting or support experience.
- Strong understanding of procurement, inventory, and material management business processes.
- Experience participating in SAP implementation, enhancement, or support projects.
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
- Experience supporting testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with SAP S/4HANA MM or cloud-enabled SAP environments.
- Exposure to related modules such as SD, WM, EWM, FI, or PP.
- Prior consulting experience in enterprise SAP projects.
- Familiarity with modern delivery approaches, including agile methods and continuous improvement practices.
- An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.
- Experience working in global, multi-site, or complex supply chain environments.
Education & Certifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- SAP certification in Materials Management or related SAP solutions is an asset.
- Additional certifications in supply chain, procurement, or SAP are considered an advantage.
