SAP Development Manager

AMAT

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Job ID: 528107

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Development Manager to lead the SAP development team across our SAP S/4HANA and Business Technology Platform (BTP) landscape. This role owns the technical strategy, standards, and delivery quality for ABAP and Fiori/UI5 development, BTP development areas including CPI and Build Work Zone, and Business Data Cloud (BDC) areas including Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). The role requires a strong working understanding of how these platforms integrate with the broader enterprise landscape via Mulesoft; hands-on Mulesoft development is owned by a separate integration team, but this manager will coordinate closely with them to ensure SAP-side interfaces and integration points are well designed and delivered. The ideal candidate combines deep SAP development expertise with proven people-management experience, and is comfortable acting as the primary point of contact between CRH, SI/AMS partners, and internal teams for all development-related matters.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Team Leadership & People Management
  • Hire, lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP Development Leads/Developers, setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and building career development plans
  • Prioritize individual and team workload across competing project and support demands
  • Supervise and manage contract/SI development resources, ensuring quality and accountability
  • Build a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and continuous learning within the development team

Development Strategy & Standards
  • Define and promote SAP technical standards, best practices, and design guidelines across ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and BTP development including Clean Core principles
  • Own the technical roadmap for adoption of modern S/4HANA development tools and patterns, including CDS views, OData, and RAP
  • Lead design, build, and test governance, including code, document, and test reviews for complex RICEFWs
  • Ensure development practices align with security and Basis standards, partnering with the Security and Basis managers

Platform & Technology Ownership
  • Own development standards and delivery quality for ABAP and Fiori/UI5, including BRF+ and workflow-based solutions, across FI/CO, SD, MM, PM, and HR modules
  • Own SAP BTP development areas including CPI (Cloud Integration) and Work Zone, ensuring solutions are designed to standard and delivered on time
  • Own development and configuration standards for Business Data Cloud (BDC) areas including Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • Maintain a strong working understanding of integration architecture and data flows via Mulesoft to guide SAP-side interface design
  • Partner with the Mulesoft/integration team to ensure clean handoffs, clear interface contracts, and end-to-end integration quality across SAP touchpoints

Delivery & Quality Governance
  • Oversee project development activities end-to-end, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to CRH standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between CRH, SI/AMS vendors, and internal teams for development-related tasks and escalations
  • Manage customer expectations and build strong working relationships with business and technical stakeholders
  • Provide regular status, risk, and delivery reporting to senior leadership and program stakeholders

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage SI/AMS partners delivering development work, holding them accountable to quality standards, timelines, and SLAs
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Basis, Security, functional/business teams, and the Mulesoft integration team) to ensure aligned delivery
