Full Job Description
Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, SAP Presales and Alliance, the SAP Customer Solution Director is part of the SAP practice and serves as the functional design authority for clients and delivery teams. The role maintains solution continuity from the earliest pursuit and presales discussions through delivery, user acceptance testing, go-live and support, helping ensure that the solution sold remains consistent with the solution designed and delivered.

Working at the intersection of business development, presales and delivery, you translate complex business challenges into an SAP solution that can be built, estimated and aligned with the client's industry. You own process design and the industry response, while technical architecture remains with the Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect and execution, staffing and margin remain with project management and delivery leadership. Your influence, judgement and deep SAP S/4HANA knowledge contribute directly to client satisfaction and sales growth.

Your mission consists of:
  • Client orientation and business value:
    • Lead functional solutioning for pursuits, requests for proposal and oral presentations by translating client business problems into an SAP solution that Talan can estimate and deliver.
    • Build and defend the value case with business stakeholders, including benefit drivers, baseline measures and the operational changes required to realize the expected value.
    • Advise decision-makers and, when appropriate, recommend a no-bid decision when industry fit or client readiness does not support a responsible proposal.
  • Business development and influence:
    • Define solution assumptions, scope boundaries, exclusions and functional inputs to estimates, then challenge estimates before they are incorporated into pricing.
    • Design and present, with Alliance and Presales teams, industry-relevant demonstrations, accelerators and proof-of-concept scenarios.
    • Support joint pursuits, industry positioning and engagement with SAP account teams and ecosystem partners.
  • Design leadership and risk management:
    • Act as the functional design authority, decide on process design and fit-to-standard matters, and chair or co-chair workshops focused on critical processes.
    • Provide a documented transition from the sold solution to the delivery team, including the assumption register, scope baseline and design intent.
    • Serve as an escalation point when scope, industry fit or process design is at risk, and support the rationale for required changes.
  • Delivery excellence:
    • Review and approve process design deliverables before they are submitted to the client for sign-off.
    • Validate the delivered design against the original value case through user acceptance testing, go-live and stabilization.
    • Advise the team on organizational impacts arising from process design in partnership with the change management lead.
  • Collaboration and practice development:
    • Coach functional consultants and domain leads to strengthen the team's ability to hold credible industry conversations with clients.
    • Advance the industry intellectual property roadmap, including process models, configuration accelerators, demo scenarios and client references.
    • Feed delivery lessons into leads, packaged offerings, accelerators and the process content used by AI-enabled delivery tools.
