Job Description

Reporting to the Principal Director, SAP Innovation and IP and the Vice President, Delivery for engagement assignment, the SAP AI Orchestration Developer designs and builds AI-enabled business processes on the SAP Business AI platform.

You connect models, data, and AI services to workflows, approvals, exception paths, and human controls that make a solution safe and useful in production. You partner with functional specialists, architects, and delivery teams to evaluate quality, manage risk, and document maintainable solutions.

Your mission consists of:
  • Technical and functional expertise
    • Design and develop workflows that integrate AI services, prompts, models, and decisioning into user journeys.
    • Implement document ingestion, vector embeddings, grounding and workflows in AI processes.
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking
    • Define human controls, autonomy rules, exception paths, and audit trails to limit the consequences of incorrect outputs.
    • Evaluate outputs with real test sets, measure accuracy, and instrument solutions to detect drift early.
  • Operational excellence
    • Support integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, cutover, and stabilization for AI-enabled scope.
  • Collaboration and team mindset
    • Work with functional specialists to understand the business process before automating it and produce documentation that support teams can use.
  • Knowledge sharing
    • Build reusable patterns, prompt libraries, and evaluation harnesses, then enable teams to understand the limits of the AI layer.

Qualifications
  • Experience: At least six (6) years in software development, including at least two (2) years building AI-enabled or intelligent automation solutions deployed to production.
  • SAP Business AI achievements: At least two (2) years with AI Core, AI Launchpad, generative AI hub, and orchestration or prompt management.
  • AI expertise: At least two (2) years building and tuning retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, with hands-on Document AI or Document Information Extraction experience.
  • Development: At least four (4) years with Python, plus Node.js or Java; experience with Joule extensibility and workflow automation.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Conditions: Canada-based remote role; occasional travel, typically under 15% of working time.
  • Communication: Good oral and written communication skills, in English, to communicate with clients located across North America.

Assets
  • HANA Cloud vector engine, Intelligent Scenario Lifecycle Management, ABAP AI SDK, MCP, or agent frameworks.
  • SAP Business AI, BTP Extensions with CAP, SAP Build Process Automation, or cloud AI certification.
